GEFICS SCADA

The black art of GeFICS SCADA

Just wondering if anyone out there had any experience with GeFICS SCADA systems, in particular the Ethernet configuration of such systems. I am looking to gather some information regarding TCP/IP port usage on our machine, as this is the main channel of communication to our PLC's. Also, does anyone know of a method of directly connecting an Allen Bradley Data Highway onto an Ethernet, possibly allowing Port mapping between the two?? Ideally this would be the best way to connect our system. Thanks in advance folks.

Again, one of the better ways to do this is with a protocol converter..contact Specter instruments - they make a programable 6 port, interface node. you can realistically have a DH+, modbus and a couple of ascii streams, bar code readers, scales etc. and have one output to your processor. they are compatible thru DDE and for certain SCADA vendors OLE. win 31 and win 32 ( 95 NT) compliant. the web site is www.specterinstruments.com PS - i do not work or represent Specter, just know that they have a good product that works. regards Pat Porto
